We are welcoming BLK DNM
BLK DNM was founded by Johan Lindeberg in downtown New York in 2011, since when it has spread rapidly around the world.
At the beginning of October, BLK DNM will open a new store at Smålandsgatan 20 in Bibliotekstan, named SPACE 10. The store has a floor area of 140sqm and will stock BLK DNM’s full range of denim and leather products for men and women.
BLK DNM was founded by Johan Lindeberg in downtown New York in 2011, since when it has spread rapidly around the world. The brand has a strong cultural identity based on the values of equality, freedom, politics and art, often expressed through Lindeberg’s own photography. The focus is on denim and every garment or product has a specific number: Leatherjacket 5, Jeans 17, Perfume 21, to highlight how the brand works outside conventional thinking about clothing collections.
“We’re so happy that we have a “home”, a place to show what the brand stands for. We see our new space more as a gallery, an art space, where we can question and develop the boundaries between brand, art and film project. BLK DNM spaces are designed according to how I want to live, as an open creative space. The corner store on Norrlandsgatan is perfect with large windows and high ceilings, where we can express BLK DNM in pictures and projections,” says Johan Lindeberg, Founder and Creative Director, BLK DNM.
“BLK DNM is the most personal thing I’ve done in my career. My goal has always been to create energy. I’m deeply inspired by New York City, where people from all over the world converge to be part of a new creative platform and progressive development beyond passports, borders, and religion. I want to take part of downtown NYC to Stockholm and see SPACE 10 as a community hub where people can come together, a place where people can come in, sit on the floor, read a book and be themselves,” Lindeberg adds.
BLK DNM’s latest venture will be an exciting addition to the existing offering and will contribute with contemporary innovation. This makes Bibliotekstan even more interesting for visitors, while at the same time consolidating the area as the Nordic region’s best shopping destination.
