How We’re Dressing for Summer 2026
Women’s Fashion: The Season’s Biggest Trends
• A matching set is a must this summer. From breezy versions for the beach to more elevated options for summer parties. We particularly love Stylein’s cotton skirt paired with its matching top, available in both black and white. Visit the boutique at Mäster Samuelsgatan 6.
• Polka dots are everywhere this season, appearing in every shape and colour imaginable on everything from silk skirts to flowing maxi dresses. Take a look at this dress from House of Dagmar at Biblioteksgatan 12.
• This season, cami tops, silk shorts and maxi dresses are adorned with elegant lace trims. Rodebjer (Smålandsgatan 14) shows how lace can elevate even patterned garments.
Men’s Fashion: The Key Pieces
• It’s a World Cup summer, and yes — a football jersey can absolutely be styled in a fashion-forward way. Just look at Acne Studios’ football-inspired collection at Norrmalmstorg 2. The ongoing sportswear trend also embraces performance trainers, outdoor-inspired bags and lightweight nylon jackets.
• Cool, polished and comfortable. This summer, the short-sleeved shirt replaces the T-shirt and is best worn with a bold pattern. Think checks, florals and stripes. Here’s a great example from A.P.C. at Jakobsbergsgatan 6.
• Tailored shorts are the new summer essential. This season’s versions are sharply cut and designed to be worn at dressier occasions with a shirt and blazer. Take a look at this linen pair from Cos at Biblioteksgatan 3.

The Best Places to Catch the Sun
An Italian Breakfast
The stretch of Jakobsbergsgatan that runs through Bibliotekstan has undergone a major transformation in recent years. The construction work and machinery are finally starting to disappear, making way once again for the buzz of eager shoppers and city strollers.
This is also where you’ll find Sempre, a favourite among Stockholmers for a quick espresso at the counter. The café recently opened an outdoor terrace where you can start your day with a croissant and authentic Italian coffee — or enjoy a mid-morning treat with Sicilian cannoli filled with chocolate and lemon cream. On Fridays, aperitivo is served from 5 pm to 9 pm. Cin cin!

Discover the New Bibon
Welcome to Bibliotekstan’s newest addition: Bibon. This modern European bistro comes with a touch of New York flair. The menu features classic dishes with a contemporary twist, and we highly recommend the signature Toast Bibon—a luxurious take on the classic toasted sandwich, filled with Gruyère, pata negra ham and truffle. Around lunchtime, the outdoor terrace on Biblioteksgatan is bathed in sunshine.

Cocktails at Vau de Ville
One of the city’s sunniest outdoor terraces serves a delightful mix of French bistro favourites, Swedish comfort-food classics and creative cocktails. From lunch through late evening, the atmosphere is lively, whether you’re settling in for a celebratory dinner or simply enjoying a drink in the sunshine.
Norrmalmstorg 6
A Historic Experience at Restaurant Prinsen
If you’re looking for Swedish classics such as handmade meatballs, Biff Rydberg and Wallenbergare, Restaurant Prinsen is an obvious choice. Enjoy the evening sun on the terrace and soak up the atmosphere of one of Stockholm’s most historic and beloved restaurants.

World-Class Watches
For watch enthusiasts, iconic destinations such as Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich and Rue du Rhône in Geneva have long been considered pilgrimage sites. Today, Biblioteksgatan is emerging as a serious contender.
Since Nymans Ur — home to Rolex and other prestigious brands — opened on the street in 1994, an increasing number of renowned watchmakers have established a presence in the area.
Directly opposite Nymans Ur stands Patek Philippe’s elegant boutique, housed in the former Bo Berggren watch store. The street is also home to flagship stores from celebrated Swiss brands including Omega, Breitling, and Panerai.
Collectors searching for pre-owned timepieces should make a stop at Kaplans Auctions.
The latest addition is Swatch on Smålandsgatan 20A, where long queues recently formed for the launch of the brand’s highly anticipated collaboration with luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet.

Equipped for an Active Summer
Bibliotekstan has welcomed a new addition to its sportswear scene. In May, Swiss brand On opened its first store in Sweden, located in the distinctive triangular building with entrances on both Biblioteksgatan and Birger Jarlsgatan.
In a remarkably short time, the brand has become a favourite among runners and style-conscious consumers alike, thanks to its minimalist aesthetic and technical running shoes engineered to feel like running on clouds.
The new 250-square-metre store draws inspiration from Stockholm’s cityscape. The chequered stone floors, for example, reference the iconic black-and-white paving of Sergels Torg. Here, visitors can explore the full On universe — from comfortable running shoes and tennis apparel to sleek everyday clothing and accessories.
